Nagaland based Naga People's Front is on a strong wicket in Mao assembly constituency which had given a massive lead of 44943 votes to the party in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Congress which won the Outer Manipur parliamentary seat of which Mao is a part, came second with just 1662 votes in this assembly segment.
