A keen contest among Congress, BJP and other parties is on the cards for the coming 2017 assembly election to Kangpokpi. In 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, the Congress candidate from Manipur Outer parliamentary seat had established a lead of 3261 votes over his nearest rival in this assembly segment.
