Elections to the 60 seats in Manipur Assembly election are going to be held in 2017. The Election Commission of India has not announced the date yet. The major political parties in the state are the Indian National Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur National Conference, and the Communist party of India. INC won the last assembly elections in 2012 and formed the Government.
The number of voters in Manipur is 17,41,581. Manipur is one of the few states with a 97 % coverage of photo electoral rolls.
