Though Trinamool Congress finds itself in firm ground in Mahisadal, the rivalry between its factions is of concern to the party. The party’s sitting MLA who is a Kolkata based doctor is considered an outsider by a section of the party. The CPM is also plagued by internal feud. The influence of Haldia strongman and its former Haldia MP Lakshman Seth, who was expelled from the party, has weakened CPM. BJP and Congress don’t matter in Mahisadal.
