The coming 2016 assembly poll to Krishnanagar Uttar assembly constituency will witness keen contest between BJP, Trinamool Congress, and Left Front. The BJP has led from the seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections despite the fact the party’s vote share in the constituency was only 3.51% in 2011 assembly polls whereas Abani Mohan Joardar, the sitting Trinamool MLA had polled 56.69% of the votes in that election. However, what is of concern to the BJP is that the party does not have a robust organizational network in West Bengal.
