That Trinamool Congress is on a strong wicket in Krishnaganj assembly constituency is attested by the fact the party won the seat in a bye-election in 2015 by a huge margin of 37033 votes. While CPM is in a state of decline, BJP, which had garnered only 3.09 per cent of votes in 2011, came second relegating the CPM to third place in the bye-election. Congress is a non-entity.
