Electoral History and Background

Manoranjitham of the AIADMK party won this constituency in the assembly elections of the year 2011. In the previous assembly elections of 1971 the DMK party was victorious. In the assembly elections of 1967 the DMK party was victorious.

The constituency of Uthangarai is a taluk in Dharmapuri district. It is a reserved constituency. Uthangarai comprises 185revenue villages. Here 51% of males and the 45% of female are registered as voters.
