Swine Flu

After the bird flu scare its now the swine flu scaring the world docs out of their wits. It transmits very easily and has the capacities to wreack havoc. So please do not take it lightly.

You must have seen reports of how family members have caught the flu when they refuse to get isolated in hospitals. Please do not spread the virus with such carelessness. If someone is flying in and has fever do take them to the doc.

Re: Swine Flu

Just some more info for you:

The main route of transmission of the new influenza A(H1N1) virus seems to be similar to seasonal influenza, via droplets that are expelled by speaking, sneezing or coughing. You can prevent getting infected by avoiding close contact with people who show influenza-like symptoms (trying to maintain a distance of about 1 metre if possible) and taking the following measures:

Avoid touching your mouth and nose;
Clean hands thoroughly with soap and water, or cleanse them with an alcohol-based hand rub on a regular basis (especially if touching the mouth and nose, or surfaces that are potentially contaminated);

Avoid close contact with people who might be ill;

Reduce the time spent in crowded settings if possible;
Improve airflow in your living space by opening windows;

Practise good health habits including adequate sleep, eating nutritious food, and keeping physically active.

Re: Swine Flu

Swine flu doesn't end up by just affecting people with sickness. Now it has started taking the lives of innocent people in India. It is a painful to hear such news.

Re: Swine Flu

Prevention from this epidemic in India is very much possible and easy. I am an NRI and my family lives in India, I was worried like anything when I went through a newspaper article about swine flu in India. My parents find it difficult to visit a doctor or diagnostic lab for tests so, I availed some services from a Parental Care organization of India. It gave my parents health check up plans, doctor's visit at home and arrangement of diagnostic tests at home. I got it all though the following links.

Now I am much relaxed about my family in India.

One of my friend has made a swine flu awareness initiative to make people aware of swine flu. He made a quiz that can help you to assess your self about swine flu, and score you accordingly.
