As the seven-time MLA Okram Joy Singh is now in the BJP, the party is in an advantageous place in the Langthabal assembly constituency which is currently held by Ram Vilas Paswan led Lok Janashakti Party (LJP), part of the NDA at the Centre. The Congress is not a dominant force in the constituency.
