Haripad Assembly Election 2016

Current Trend

Both the fronts are equally poised to claim the Haripad Assembly constituency in the 2016 assembly polls to the Kerala state assembly. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate from Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency K.C. Venugopal had established a lead over his nearest rival C.B. Chandrababu LDF by more than 8,000 votes in this Assembly segment.

The newly created Haripad municipality, a part of the Haripad assembly constituency, was also won by the UDF in 2015. The BJP, which received just 2.34 per cent votes in the 2011 Assembly polls, is all set to do better.
