Experts offer tips to avoid this saying that the main problem is when we watch TV on an empty stomach. To beat hunger pangs we reach for the nearest packet of chips or bottle of cola. The ideal thing to do would be to have a low fat or high fiber snack before you pick up the remote. You can be prepared with your own nutritious munchies, like whole meal biscuits or dried fruit. Though it doesn't seem as exciting as fast food, think of the healthy benefits in the long run. Remember, small popcorn without toppings is still over 200 calories.
Value meals at fast-food restaurants might save you money now, but overeating may cost you plenty later.
