 EROS launches the DVD of film “Kambakkht Ishq”

Eros International has launched the DVD of Kambakkht Ishq, a film by Sajid Nadiadwala and co - produced by Sunil.A.Lulla. This film is directed by Shabbir Khan starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and also acclaimed Hollywood actors like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and Holly Valance.

Akshay and Kareena have given a remarkable performance in the film “Kambakkht Ishq”. And for those who couldn’t watch the movie at the theatre, Eros launched the DVD as a home-theatre release. The cost of the DVD is for Rs.299 only. This DVD comes in a pack of 3 and has additional features like Making of the Film and Songs.  “Heer Ranjha” set to release on 13th Nov 2009

You mention any good usual love story and it will have all the usual emotions of love, longing, pain, quest and sacrifice. But the moment you mention Heer Ranjha, the word ‘eternal’ is pre-fixed to all these emotions – eternal love, eternal longing, eternal quest and eternal sacrifice. Time is perhaps the ultimate test of greatness and it is a testimony to the enduring appeal of the story of Heer Ranjha that it continues to be a dearly loved part of the collective and individual memory of millions across the world even after almost 300 years.

According to Rajesh Banga of Eros International, Heer Ranjha which is the biggest Punjabi film is going to release in Punjab and worldwide on 13th Nov 2009. Harbhajan Maan and Neeru Bajwa starring Heer Ranjha is directed by Harjit Singh and Ksshitij Chaudhary and produced by Harbhajan Mann, Apinder Grewal and Gulzar Inder Chahal.

Ranjha, a flute playing ‘man-mauji’ who looks at life with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, is shattered after the death of his loving father. He leaves his home in ‘Takht Hazaara’ after being disillusioned with the behavior of his family and wanders about aimlessly into the unknown world. However, his wandering feet and heart are arrested by just one glimpse of the mesmerizingly beautiful ‘Heer’ from ‘Jhang Siyaal’. Love blossoms and the two souls are soon pledged to each other for all eternity. However, the bitter ‘Kaidon’ and the wily ‘Qaazis’ conspire to separate the two lovers and Heer is forcibly married off to ‘Saidaa’ of ‘Rangpur Kherra’. A disconsolate Ranjha renounces the world and wanders around in search of Heer. The two lovers meet again only to be dealt a cruel blow by fate once again. Ultimately the two lovers meet a tragic end but their story doesn’t end with their deaths. It grows into a legend instead. Every time a ‘ghabroo’ sighs in love just as Ranjha must have centuries ago, and every time a ‘mutiyaar’ feels the tars of Heer flow from her own eyes, we know that the story of Heer Ranjha has lived on in the heart of every man who has known and experienced love.

Heer Ranjha, the film, tries to recreate the legend of the two lovers with utmost sincerity and historical accuracy. The best of technicians and artists form around the world have come together on this film with a common goal – the most authentic and lavish retelling of the story of Heer Ranjha.  Story of the film “Do Knot Disturb”

7,000 pirated DVDs seized In Hadapsar, Pune Hadapsar police station officials raided the road under a flyover in Hadapsar on Tuesday morning at 10 am and nabbed 3 men for involvement in piracy racket. The officials seized 7,000 DVDs of latest movies, including ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Aladin’ that were being supplied openly on the road. They also found blue films and the setup was just 250 meters away from the police station. All the 3 accused are professional vendors who work under some dealer. The police officials have started the investigation and inquiring about the main dealer. Officials are now tracking the DVD route to the supplier and customers in the piracy chain. If proven guilty, the accused sellers will be booked under the stringent Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act. The act denies alleged offenders bail for the first three months. Movie pirates are now booked under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and the Copyright Act.

Vashu Bhagnani is coming up with “Do knot disturb” which is out and out comedy film. It is directed by David Dhawan who inherits comedy in every blood cell of his. It stars comedy king Govinda, sensational Lara Dutta, a person who has given a new dimension to comedy Ritesh Deshmukh, Sophisticated and bong beauty Sushmita Sen along with Sohail Khan, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav.

Trio Vashu-David-Govinda after 10 long years of their hit “Bade miyaan chote miyaan” are coming up with DKD to re-create their magic. Prior to this they have come up with super-hits films like “Coolie No.1” and “Hero No.1”. The lyrics is written by Samir and music is composed by duo Nadeem-Sharvan.

The story goes like that Govinda lays the character of rich and filthy businessman and Sushmita Sen plays his wife, who is beautiful and sophisticated woman. He is in love with super model Lara Dutta. Ritesh plays his friend. Govinda seeks help from Ritesh to hide his ex-marital affair from his wife. And then the confusion, twist and turns starts.

What finally happens for that you need to go and watch the film. Indeed this film is going to be loved by one and all of all strata as Govinda’s film always proves to be a hilarious journey.

Before commencing her career in film she started as theatre actor with Ashmita theatre group and acted in several plays. After coming to Mumbai, she was spotted by Director Anurag Basu in a café and miracle named “Gangster” happened to her. And then there was no looking back for Kangana. “Woh Lahme”, “Life in a metro”, “Fashion”, “Razz”, she earned appreciation for her full-fledged performances. She has even grabbed Filmfare award for best supporting role in film “Fashion”, Filmfare was best female debut for “Gangster” and many more. While her recent interaction with media, she has much more to say for her up-coming film “Vaada Raha”. Following is the interface noted:

• Tell us about “Vaada Raha”.
-“Vaada Raha” is presented by Next Gen and Top Angle Productions. It is produced and directed by Samir Karnik. I play love-interest of Bobby Deol. Apart from us, Dwij Yadav and Atul Kulkarni star in the film. The music is composed by Toshi-Sharib, Babbu Maan, Monty, Rahul Seth, Sandy and Sanjoy Chowdhury.

• Can you brief us about the story?
-Me and Bobby Deol are in love. He plays a doctor who is researching on cancer. He is very positive and fun-loving person. But, an incident occurs in his like which changes the flow. It is very emotional film. And audience will love it.

• This is the first time you are working with Director Samir Karnik and actor Bobby Deol. How was it working with them?
-As I said, Samir Karnik has made a beautiful movie and it was immensely great working with him. Bobby is a very humble co-actor. We make a nice-pair.

• You are known to inact the character of a drug-addict, psyche, with negative shades. And it is indeed not everyone’s cup of tea. You must be mostly approached with such roles. Elaborate.
-Yes, I know I am good in it. And that is absolutely true that I ve been getting such offers. Sometimes I feel I’ll be getting such offers only.

• Tell us something about film “Kites”.
-I am salsa-dancer in the film. I learnt many dance-steps from Hritik Roshan on the sets of “Kites”. One will see different Kanagana in coming times.

• Which are your up-coming films?
-“Once upon a time”, “No Problem”, “Ek Niranjan”

• Your journey started with “Gangster” and today you are counted amongst performance-pact actors. How does it feel?
-My journey has been great, touch-wood. I worked with Anurag Basu in my first film, and then did 2 consecutive films with him, under Mahesh Bhatt banner, what more can I ask.

 Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, is crowned Miss Universe 2009!

Venezuela has done it again back to back. Last years Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza, too was from Venezuela. Stefania Fernandez became the sixth Venezuelan to win the title. Stefanía Fernandez was born on September 4, 1990 in Merida, Merida State, Venezuela. Stefania won cheers of the audience in both the Swimsuit and Evening Gown categories as part of the selection of the top 15 finalists. There was joy and excitement on her Stefanía face when she was honored by the $120,000 crown. Fernandez had won the Miss Venezuela 2008 title. She has also won other titles like Miss 'Elegance', 'Best Body' and 'Best Face'.

Miss India, Ekta Chaudhary, was not short listed among the top 15 finalists of the Miss Universe 2009.

A star singer who has devoted his life praising songs of Goddess Durga, Narinder Chanchal was born on 16th of October, in a religious Punjabi family in Namak Mandi, Amritsar (Punjab - India). His mother was a firm believer in Vaishno Devi and eventually, inspired Narinder to sing bhajans. Narinder was inclined towards music from the very beginning. He actively participated in cultural programmes. He learnt music from Sri Prem Trikha, a musician from Amritsar. Today also he's promoting 'Mata's Bhents' in India and abroad.
